How To Perfect A Flawless Foundation Application

When it comes to a flawless foundation application, textures and tools matter. The first step in a flawless foundation application is making sure you know what foundation finish and/or look you are going for. There are many different skin finishes that are desirable at any time throughout the seasons, but it is all about what finish works for you.

There are foundation formulas that are available in matte, dewy, satin, and natural textures and finishes. For a beautiful full coverage matte finish, Fenty Beauty Pro Filt'r Foundation is a great choice. In the photos above I am wearing the Fenty Pro Filt'r Foundation applied with a dense buffer brush for a full coverage finish. Because of the matte foundation texture, the foundation formula will last longer throughout the day rather than a dewy, satin, or natural finish. Natural oils in the skin take longer to shine through and break down a matte texture.

A Dewy finish foundation will always give you a beautiful, more natural glow. This foundation finish will give your skin an effortless radiance. Foundations such as the Charlotte Tilbury Light Wonder Foundation gives a dewy finish and lightweight feel while still giving the skin coverage for any discoloration or blemishes that may be present. Using the Charlotte Tilbury Wonderglow Face Primer is a staple beauty items that can also be used under the Light Wonder foundation or on its own for a natural radiance!

When applying foundation having the right tool is just as important as having the correct shade for your complexion. Using a flat brush, one such as the Eco Tools Classic Foundation brush for foundation application will give you a natural finish and is best for textured skin. Textured skin can be problematic skin that has acne, flaking, or spots. Using a densely packed brush such as the Eco Tools Complexion Buffer will give an airbrush full coverage look to the skin. Because the brush is tightly packed with more bristles, using the brush in circular motions buffs the foundation into the skin leaving it seamless with no streaks. A dense brush is the quick and easy solution to the illusion of airbrushed skin!
